BELGIQUE - V.I.E IT Support Engineer - H/F

Description

He/she will be responsible for providing IT support to Naval Group Belgium (NGB) sites In Brussels and Zeebrugge ensuring business productivity and continuity to all NGB staff.

He/she will be responsible for managing, maintaining the company's information technology systems, networks, and infrastructure, ensuring optimal service delivery across the contractual perimeter. The IT Support Engineer ensures IT services are delivered with high availability, security, and compliance while meeting business objectives.

 

Reporting to the cyber department, the IT Support Engineer coordinates IT team and supplier resources, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. He/she represents the IT function in operational governance bodies and ensures alignment between IT services and business needs.

 

Main  activities

-   Ensure proper execution of service delivery processes: incident, service request, change, problem, configuration, capacity, availability, obsolescence, and performance management.

-   Ensure operational maintenance in terms of security (patching, antivirus, versioning) and operations (backups, restorations, disaster recovery plans).

-   Participate in operational governance meetings with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

-   Identify operational risks and propose action plans for resolution.

-   Participate in continuous improvement through post-incident reviews and structured problem-solving.

-   Propose productivity and efficiency improvements within the IT domain.

-   Provide solutions to staff with IT problems

Responsibilities & Duties

WHAT ABOUT YOU? 

Knowledge

-   IT infrastructure

-   configuration management and asset repositories (CMDB).

-   Familiarity with virtualization, and security best practices.

-   Professional proficiency in English; French and/or Dutch is an asset.

 

Autonomy

-   Operationally arbitrate priorities on services and resources.

-   Define and adapt operational strategies based on business needs.

 

Complexity

-   Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.

-   Manage cross-departmental dependencies and risks.

 

Contribution

-   Ensure the proper execution of IT service delivery processes.

-   Validate operational acceptance of solutions.

-   Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
