Description

Naval Group SA is a leading European player in the naval defence industry. As part of its business expansion, its subsidiary Naval Group Hellas is seeking a Financial Controller M/F to join its local team.

The Finance Officer M/F  supports the Finance Manager in the daily financial operations of the company, contributing to the accuracy and reliability of accounting and financial data.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key financial processes and actively contribute to the monthly closing and reporting cycle, gaining exposure to both operational and analytical aspects of finance. It is ideal for someone with 2–4 years of experience who is looking to grow within a structured and professional environment.

The ideal start date for this role is 1 August 2026.

 

Key Responsibilites


- Maintain accurate accounting records in line with Group policies and local requirements
- Support the monthly closing and reporting process
- Perform reconciliations (bank, expenses, intercompany) and follow up on discrepancies
- Monitor expense processes, ensuring proper documentation, approval, and compliance
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including basic variance analysis
- Ensure proper filing and control of financial documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams (technical, procurement, administration) to support daily operations
- Support compliance with local accounting and tax requirements
- Assist in the review of contracts and ensure proper financial and tax treatment
- Assist in compliance with local tax reporting obligations (including myDATA where applicable)
- Assist during internal and external audits by preparing required documentation
- Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of internal controls

 

 

You will have the opportunity to talk to the department manager and learn more about all your assignments during the recruitment interviews.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

 

- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Good understanding of basic tax regulations
- Familiarity with VAT treatment, including domestic, intra-community transactions and imports
- Basic knowledge of withholding taxes and related reporting requirements
- Understanding of inventory (warehouse) processes and their accounting impact
- Ability to review and interpret contracts with financial impact
- Familiarity with local tax reporting processes and platforms (e.g. myDATA)


- Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is considered an asset
- Experience in reconciliations and reporting is considered an asset


- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is considered an asset
- Strong team spirit and collaborative mindset
