In our recent and rapidly growing Belgian office we focus at present on cyber and large software systems for Coastal Protection and Mine Counter Measures. With a large portfolio of European Defense Projects, we collaborate with all major EU industries and research institutions for the continuous strengthening of common EU Defense capabilities.

 


As part of the development of its activities, Naval Group Belgium is looking for a Project Manager who will be in charge of managing one or several European Defense Projects throughout their entire lifespan.

 

For this opportunity, you will:

- Ensure the overall management of the project(s) under the cost-quality-time and technical aspect and therefore lead the relevant internal and external (suppliers, partners) entities, teams to provide compliant deliveries on time and on cost

- Manage the Cost, Delay and Quality of the project in line with the contractual obligations of Naval Group

- Ensure the respect of procedures work methodology in accordance with EU Regulations

- Report on financial and technical status to Naval Group Director of EU Projects

- Contribute to documents and presentations and to the redaction of project deliverables

- Interact with internal R&D team of Naval Group and request support when new developments are needed by proactively anticipating risks and mitigation actions

- Attend workshops, seminar, fairs and events when requested by the project(s)

- Communicate on your work.

 

You will have the opportunity to talk to the department manager and learn more about all your assignments during the recruitment interviews.

Responsibilities & Duties

WHAT ABOUT YOU?

 

A STEM master degree is considered highly preferential considering the highly innovative and technical nature of the project(s) to manage.    

At least 3 years of Project /Programme Management experience (after Master) - ideally gained in a matrix organization working in Engineering and/or R&D and R&I. A PMP or PRINCE certification is considered an advantage but it’s not mandatory.

Familiarity with EU funding schemes and projects – the knowledge of the European Defense Fund (EDF) and Horizon Europe funding programs is considered an advantage.

Negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships and work collaboratively across various levels and with internal and external collaborators.

Proficient with Microsoft Project and other platforms within Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, strong Excel spreadsheet skills for analysis). Effective communications skills. English is mandatory (written and spoken); other languages (French and/or Dutch) are an advantage.
