Description
The SN-BR program is part of the implementation of the PROSUB program, a major technology transfer program signed between the Brazilian Navy and Naval Group in 2009. After several years of training and preliminary project studies, the first stage of detailed studies (Phase C0) began on 10 August 2022 for a period of 2.5 years. Naval Group is responsible for technical assistance with the design of SN-BR.
This position, part of the Brazil Front Office, is based in São Paulo, with the successful candidate ideally starting in January 2025.
Led by the Systems Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for assisting with the technical electrical design of a nuclear-powered attack submarine.
Your main tasks will be to:
- Develop and ensure the implementation of resources to assist and advise with industrial project management as part of development studies for a nuclear-powered submarine’s electrical power plant
- Ensure acceptance by various program stakeholders (foreign navy, local industry stakeholders, Naval Group, etc.) to ensure the proper performance of the technical assistance and/or technology transfer contract in an international context within the technical field of electricity
- Mobilise and contextualise the “product development” process and its related processes while ensuring excellent compliance with the Naval Group guidelines
- Analyse documents produced by the customer and pass on recommendations made by the Naval Group engineering and design department to the back office
- Respond to customer requests, with support from the back office where necessary
- Carry out regular field visits in line with customer needs
- Lead regular rituals with the customer and back office
- Take part in the front office’s weekly rituals to understand the program’s scope, gain an overview of the work that has been completed and share difficulties encountered.
You will have the opportunity to talk to the department manager and learn more about all your tasks during the recruitment interviews.
Responsibilities & Duties
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
You hold a degree in engineering or equivalent and have at least 10 years of experience in an engineering office and/or in electrical design
You also have good knowledge of electrical engineering in a submarine context

o you have an excellent ability to audit and to act as a consultant and assistant
Your skills include:
o - excellent customer relations

Excellent English (which is the language of the contract) is required
Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus
